Nadya Hristakieva is a multidisciplinary artist whose work connects the realms of art, science, and metaphysics. Originally from Bulgaria and now based in the United Kingdom, she draws on a diverse and richly layered background that includes engineering, metaphysical science, and fine art.

Her formal education began at the Engineering University in her country of birth, where she developed a foundation in structural and analytical thinking. This perspective later evolved into a more philosophical and experiential approach during her specialisation in Metaphysical Science at the University of Metaphysics in Sedona, Arizona. She went on to complete a Fine Art degree at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, UK, where she began integrating these disciplines into a cohesive and experimental artistic language.

Hristakieva’s practice includes sculpture, installation, performance, and film, often incorporating sound and light to create immersive sensory environments. Her technical fluency includes welding, woodturning, structural construction, photography, printmaking, and painting. This allows her to move fluidly between disciplines while maintaining precision and conceptual openness.

Hristakieva primarily works with organic and elemental materials sourced from the earth, including wood, stone, metal, and glass. She creates sculptural and installation-based environments that serve as symbolic spaces between the physical and metaphysical realms. Her works illustrate how material form can convey and represent intangible states, making visible the unseen structures that shape human experience.

At the core of her practice is the concept of Safe Space as an inner and external condition, shaped by perception, memory, and lived experience. This space is not fixed or purely physical, but psychological and emotional, constructed continuously through the interaction between the self and the world. Her work explores the Invisible Energies and Connections that shape this condition: subtle forces such as emotion, trauma, resilience, transformation, and awareness. These forces are not visible, yet they define how individuals experience safety, presence, and identity.

Through her work, Hristakieva creates spaces for reflection and embodied awareness, environments where the physical and the emotional, the individual and the collective, and the visible and invisible are in continuous dialogue. Her practice seeks to cultivate presence and deeper understanding, and to explore how we are shaped by the unseen forces we carry within and around us.
