The Space of Becoming is a sculpture in wood and steel that explores the relationship between comfort and growth. The carved form evokes a place of refuge—an enclosed, protective space that symbolises the familiarity and security of what is known. Within it, two small human figures occupy a moment of transition. Together, they navigate the threshold between safety and the unknown, each embodying the tension, hesitation, and determination that accompany the decision to move beyond the familiar.

Rather than remaining within the comfort of the enclosed space, the figures are emerging, suggesting that growth is not a single step but a gradual process of balancing fear with curiosity and security with possibility.
